Hey, I’m Brian — The Hydrangea Boss
If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you’re just as obsessed with hydrangeas as I am.
I’m a Cape Cod gardener, hydrangea enthusiast, and the person behind The Hydrangea Boss.
What started as a love for growing hydrangeas in my own yard has turned into a passion for experimenting with different varieties, figuring out what actually works, and sharing what I learn with other gardeners.
My garden is home to dozens of hydrangeas, and I’m constantly trying something new, from propagating cuttings and experimenting with soil amendments to testing different pruning techniques and growing some of the newest hydrangea varieties available.
And I’m not afraid to experiment.
Some of my projects work perfectly.
Others… definitely don't. But that's part of the fun. I want to show the real process — not just the perfect blooms at the end.
Why Hydrangeas?
There’s something about hydrangeas that makes them impossible to stop growing.
The variety of colors, flower shapes, foliage, growth habits, and bloom times means there is always another one to try.
And once you start learning how they grow, you quickly realize there’s a lot more to them than simply putting a plant in the ground and hoping for the best.
That's what I love about them.
I’m constantly learning, experimenting, and finding better ways to grow healthier plants with bigger, better blooms.
